About Us

Shade of Mercy Foundation

Shade of Mercy Foundation is a non-profit organisation, offering structured courses in various aspects of education aimed at adults, teenagers and children.

All courses lead to certification, and aim is to provide the basic minimum knowledge required by every Muslim in order to fulfill their individual duty (fard ‘ayn), in religious matters. Every Muslim must know a certain measure of religion, so as to possess a sound set of belief (Aqeeda), reflect this understanding character (Akhlaq), and perform their transactions (Mu’amalat) and worship or (‘Ibada) in a way that is pleasing to Allah The Almighty.

We hope that this will help our students identify their purpose in life and enlighten their path.

Our Aim

The Shade of Mercy Foundation's aim is to enable every student to gain knowledge that bears fruits of action, knowledge that is linked to the heart to awaken it, and knowledge that makes us living examples of Islam. We are driven by the description of the Prophet Muhammed (sws), by his wife Aisha (ra): “The character of the Messenger of Allah was the Qur’an”. Through this we hope to equip our students with the knowledge and tools to embody the Quran in all of their actions, so that they, too, can have a character like the beloved Prophet (sws).

Our charity projects

Thanks to the Almighty, as well as your generous support and donations, the Shade of Mercy Foundation has been able to establish and maintain a school and clinic for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Located in the Marj-Beqaa valley, near the Syrian border, Rahma school educates 60-80 children. The students learn Arabic, English, Maths, Sciences, with a special emphasis on Quran.

The Rahma clinic was also set up to support these Syrian refugees. Alongside proving much-needed medical care, in 2018 we were able to introduce regular dentist visits, as well as periodic visits by specialist doctors and opticians. The free clinic supports approximately 15,000 people each year, and we hope to continue expanding our services.
